May 29, WuXi AppTec’s Lab Testing Division announced that its new online database of second generation tumor models, the world's first online information data platform of tumor models "OncoWuXi" officially opened. The company said that, with the rapid development of the whole genome sequencing technology, cancer treatment has entered the era of precision medicine. To seize this opportunity, the company built a new tumor model database: "OncoWuXi".
OncoWuXi database contains a comprehensive tumor model data and detailed genetic analysis data, integrates the basic information of clinical samples, features, data validation and modeling parameters for each tumor model, as well as their corresponding genomic analysis data together, and provides a new platform for cancer drug development.
Users of this database can search for PDX, CDX or Syngeneic mouse tumor models with clinically relevant tumor mutations using DNA whole exon sequences, RNA sequences, gene expression chips and copy number variations microchip (CNV) data. In addition, the information about tumor growth curves, histopathological and SoC verification data also can be found.
According to the introduction of Dr. Qunsheng Ji, VP and head of tumor division, OncoWuXi currently contains 1100 tumor models and the corresponding clinical and diagnostic information, 500 sets of integrated genomics / transcriptomics interpret data, 2500 tumor growth curves, 2500 histopathology images, 120 sets of standard therapy (SoC) drug susceptibility data. In addition, based on the current 320 most popular cancer-related genes, each human tumor derived model has been “prediagnosed”.
The architecture of the database works like a spider web, when a user searches for any single message, the relevant information associated with it can be pulled out. For example, when you search for specific mutations, you also can see its relevance in different tumor models (PDX / CDX / Syngeneic) and tumor types, which will help users strengthen verification in the areas of drug research and development.
